She has been a professional in the field of sexual assault prevention and response for almost 15 years. She began her career as the Americorps Victim Assistance Program (AVAP) Member providing direct crisis intervention services to adult and teenaged sexual assault victims at Sexual Assault Support Services in Portsmouth, NH. During this time Ms. Blanc was awarded the Granite State Volunteer Service Award for her work with victims of sexual violence.
At the completion of her Americorps year, Ms. Blanc became the Client Services Coordinator at Sexual Assault Support Services and was responsible for running the day to day operations of the rape crisis center serving three counties in New Hampshire and Southern Maine.
After four years of working with adult victims of sexual assault at Sexual Assault Support Services, Ms. Blanc accepted a position as the Program Coordinator of the Child Advocacy Center of Rockingham County, NH. Ms. Blanc was trained as a Forensic Interviewer and worked closely with law enforcement and child protective services on child sexual assault and felony level child physical abuse and maltreatment cases.
In September 2006 Ms. Blanc relocated to Annapolis, MD and accepted a position as a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator responsible for managing the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program (formerly SAVI Program) for the US Navy at Annapolis and FT Meade. In her position as a SARC, Ms. Blanc ensured 24/7 response capability for sexual assault victims as well as provided prevention and education training to Command Members at Naval Support Activity Annapolis, Naval Health Clinic Annapolis, USNS COMFORT, NOSC Baltimore, Defense Information School, Fleet Cyber Command, as well as all Navy personnel assigned to Navy Information Operations Command, Maryland (NIOC-MD) and the National Security Agency.
In June 2013, Ms. Blanc became the first National Capital Region SARC and is responsible for implementing the SAPR Program for the Installation and tenant Commands at the Washington Navy Yard as well as all Navy personnel not located on a Navy Installation to include the Pentagon, Office of Naval Research, Suitland Federal Center, Ft Belvoir and Quantico, VA.
In 2016, Liz accepted a position with the Department of Defense Sexual Assault Response Office as a program manager for the Safe Help Line program that is the Department of Defense’s (DoD) sole hotline for members of the DoD community affected by sexual assault.
In 2018 she accepted the Senior Victim Assistance Advisor for the Department of Defense Sexual Assault Response Office overseeing all response programs for the DoD and their members.
She is an active member of many civilian and military organizations addressing the issue of sexual violence. Ms. Blanc holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Anthropology as well as a Master’s degree in Psychology with a focus on Social Psychology.
